I’ve come across a few nifty web sites and blogs this week that might just inspire a few digi scrappers, or wanna be digi scrappers..

The first is the new web site ‘The Daily Scrapper‘. Put together by Alice Koh and her team it launched this week and is an online ‘newspaper’ for scrap-bookers which ‘creates, collects and publishes news, entertainment, opinion, and information to the digital scrapbook community.’ There first issue was packed full of interesting articles on a really broad range of subjects and there are also some great freebies so go check it out.

Delightfully Digital is Thena Smith’s digi scrapping blog. Thena is a super talented poet and her blog has heaps of amazing and inspirational poems, as well as some freebies. Also check out Thena’s other site Scrapbook News and Reviews if you are into paper scrapping or just looking for more inspiration!

I am starting a new tradition - Flickr Friday!

Maybe it is just me, but I love to waste hours just browsing images on flickr… so much cool and inspiring stuff. So in an attempt to some-what legitimise my time wasting I thought I’d post a new flickr set, with a new theme, each Friday to inspire you.

I think my mojo has finally found me as I am actually scrapping as well as designing!

So here I am, the first post at the new Lazy Cow Designs blog.

I have to admit I am a tad nervous. This thing has been growing under wraps for quite some time now and I don’t really feel ready to go public quite yet. I have the feeling though, that I may never be ready, so here I am, ‘just doing it’ as I am sure it will get easier once I get going!

So, what’s this all about? Haven’t I already got a blog? Why would I bother starting another one?

Yes I do already have a blog - picklebums in case you haven’t been there already. It’s all about my day to day life with three small children in almost rural Victoria (Australia). When I first started blogging, Picklebums was mostly about my digi scrapping and designing, but it didn’t take long for it to morph into a more personal blog and for me to become addicted to blogs and blogging in general. So while Picklebums filled up with my daily ramblings I started to blog about design stuff less and less, then when I decided to make the jump and buy my own domain name and move over to wordpress I decided not to blog about digi scrapping and designing at all over at Picklebums.

I haven’t designed much in the past year, nor have I scrapped anything much, so it was easy not to blog about design related things at Picklebums. I had two preschoolers and a baby who didn’t sleep, there was just not enough time to manage much more than to download the photos off the camera and help out at pickleberrypop. Always though, in the back of my mind, was hopes of resurrecting my creative side and getting back into it. I kept coming up with ideas for things I wanted to design. I did a few custom Christmas cards for friends and really loved it. I’d see photos just begging to be scrapped. I kept finding articles and web sites that I thought would interest scrappers and designers and crafty creative people in general. The idea that I could set up another blog, a blog for all this design and creative stuff started to grow.

It’s taken a long time for the idea to grow into something concrete. The baby (affectionately known as Muski) is almost one now and is finally sleeping a little better and I feel like I have a new lease on life, and time to create!

So here I am. A new start with a new blog just for the creative me! I have some great ideas for this blog! I have a list of interesting links a mile long, ideas for challenges, ways to find your mojo, and a few freebies too! I am also designing again so there will be new digi scrap stuff from me over at pickleberrypop and if you are interested in custom invitations, greeting cards or other graphic designs make sure you read the about page and the faq page and contact me…. I am full of enthusiasm and if the baby stays asleep I am ready to go!
