Lisa Rupp – Gorgeous Free Calendars!

February 26, 2009

I was just browsing my bloglines this afternoon when I came across a link to Lisa Rupp Designs Blog. (thanks to the wonderful Twig and Thistle Blog.)

Apart from the gorgeous design work on Lisa’s blog she is also giving away free printable calendars featuring her designs… a page each month. They are just gorgeous, so if you haven’t sorted out your calendar thing yet (like me) then head on over and print out March’s page.

You can see more of Lisa’s work at her web site.

A Few Good Blogs…

February 20, 2009

It’s been a while since I blogged about my blog designs… actually I think I’ve only blogged about the first blog deisgn I did way way way back in the middle of last year! I’ve worked on a few more blog designs since then so I’m going to show off a few of my favourites!

missmessyblog header
This header was fun to do for Ms Messy… lots of scrapbooky bits and pieces.

The knitting sheep is for ‘Knit Me Happy‘.

I really love love love this wordpress theme tweak and header for Possum and Bee. For a long time it was my favourite of all the blogs I’ve done…. but now I think it’s been over taken as favourite by this one…

This one is for a friends blog Yay for Home and can this not be a fav? It has bunnies… you gotta love bunnies!

Oh I also redesigned my own personal blog too… finally.

Digi Scrap Goodness…

February 14, 2009

I am soooo behind the times when it comes to the digi scrap world these days… I seem to just plod along in my own little happy world of oblivion, writing the newsletter at PBP, hanging out of the forums there and designing now and then… I rarely get out into the big wide world of Digi land. But now that we have new fastish internet (except for when we go over our measly little limit and get shaped) I’ve been able to waste a bit more time trawling around the interwebs looking at digi scrap goodness. I thought I might share some of the things I am liking with you all…

This stuff probably isn’t the newest, or hippest stuff out there, you’ve probably all seen in ages ago, but it still caught my eye and I thought it was worth sharing the love a little.

The lovely picklemama first alerted me to the gorgeous Kitty Designs a few months back and since then I’ve been secretly checking out her shop every now and then and drooling over the goodness. When I was there the other day I found these gorgeous Artist Painted Papers.

They caught my eye because of the incredibly intense and beautiful colour combinations and because I’ve been having fun playing around with real paint and paper myself lately and then seeing what they look like as digital papers and elements. These are just so gorgeous and check out the layouts Kitty’s CT has done with them (click on the extra previews link).. just gorgeous!

Bren Boone has moved to Scrap Orchard and I must say I really do like her style, no matter where she is selling. Loving her Space Cadet kit…

And oooh this just popped up in my bloglines… LOVING Spring Chase by Kaye Winecki….

Is it wrong to buy scrapping stuff even though I am not scrapping at all these days??? I wonder if these designers have S4O licences… then I could justify buying, maybe?

Playing with real paint and paper…

February 6, 2009

On a whim one day I bought a set of cheap water colours… for the girls to play with of course, although I think I have enjoyed them just as much as my five year olds have. We’ve spent lots of happy times all working side by side painting… but I want my own set of paints because I don’t like it when they mix up all my colours! I never was very good at sharing!

So with all this messing about with real paint and paper I was really keen to somehow get that into the computer and see what it would look like on the screen. So I doodled a bit, and painted a bit and played around a bit in photoshop and made these…

Twenty two arty farty hearties for your digi scrapping pleasure. They are in store now at PBP for $2.50 AUD.

Now that I have the painting bug I am keen to get a bigger and better set of water colours and paint some more things to digitize and add to my digi scrap designs. Anyone got any ideas or inspiration to share?
