FAQ

Got a Question?

Hopefully you’ll find an answer here. If not please send me an email via my contact page

What is Digitial Scrapbooking?
It just the same as traditional paper scrapbooking but you do it on your computer… but so many people can explain it better than I can!

About.com explains it here
Two Peas in a Bucket Scrapbook site describes it here
Pickleberrypop.com has an awesome FREE beginners kit with all you need to start digi scrapping! Go download it now… tell them a Lazy Cow sent you!

Where can I buy your digital scrapbooking designs?

My designs are sold exclusively at pickleberrypop.com
They are all digital products, once you purchase them you will be provided with links to download zip files containing the digital files.

How does copyright work with digital scrapbooking designs?

All digital scrapbooking designs are copyrighted to their designers. Each designer will have their own specific ‘terms of use’ for each product which you can generally find included in each zip file as a ‘tou’ statement. You can find my TOU statement here.

In general it is not ok for you to share, pass on or distribute to another person any designers work (even if it was free). It is also not ok for you to use digital scrapbooking designs for commercial uses without permission. My designs are not licensed for commercial use at this time, but you are welcome to contact me to discuss commercial use terms, generally I am happy to work out some arrangement.

What sort of custom designs do you create?

I create a variety of custom design items. Some of the things I have worked on in the past are; digital scrapbook pages and themed albums, birthday invitations, birth announcements, Christmas cards, birthday cards, wedding invitations, thank you cards, business cards, blog headers, party packs (invitations, thank you cards and themed extras such as treat toppers, party favours and decorations) calendars, magnets, pens…

You can see some examples of my work in my portfolio gallery. If you have an idea that you would like to see custom designed contact me and we can discuss options.

How much does it cost?

The cost of a custom design depends on the individual project. As a general guide 10×15cm (approx) cards and invites cost between $30 and $40 plus printing and shipping costs. Scrapbook layouts cost between $40 and $60 plus printing and shipping. Other graphic design work is billed at between $30 and $50 an hour. Scanning of photographic prints costs $0.75 per photo with photos being compiled on a CD (not including shipping costs).

If you contact me I am happy to discuss your requirements and give you an estimate of the cost of your project, including printing and shipping costs at the time of enquiry.

I accept payments via paypal and direct deposit (Australian bank accounts only)

Do You do Blog Makeovers?

Yes!

I can work with both Blogger and Wordpress Blogs.

A custom designed header - using your photos if you like or other design elements - costs $30

A basic blog makeover - custom designer header, matching side bar headings and basic template tweaking - costs $50

The Whole Shebang Blog Makeover - custom designer header and footer image, matching side bar headings and side bar images as requested, template including background image - costs $70

Please contact me and we can discuss your ideas.

What’s the process for ordering a custom design?

Contact me and let me know what sort of custom design you are thinking of and I will discuss with you any requirements and make any suggestions relevant to your needs. I’ll work with you to find out what you like and dislike, asking for your ideas about colours and how the finished product might look.

The next step is to send me the photos or images you’d like included in your project. If I am working with ten or less images you can email me the highest quality digital images you have. If I am working with more than ten photos I will arrange for you to snail mail me a CD. I can also arrange to scan printed photos if needed.

I will then get to work and provide you with a web quality proof to show you so any final changes can be made (please note major changes to the design may incur extra costs). Once you have approved the final proof and printing options have been decided the item will be printed and shipped to you.

I require 50% of the design fee (not including printing and shipping costs) to be paid in advance with the rest being paid upon final approval of the layout proof, before printing and shipping occurs.

Can I order a custom design for digital delivery?

Yes if you would like to print your own layouts you can request a digital copy of your design(s). Layouts will be sent as flattened print quality jpeg or pdf files.

How long does it take for a custom design?

The amount of time it takes varies from design to design but usually a first proof will be available to you within 7 days of you finalising your order. If only small changes are required a final proof will be availbe a few days after that. Delievery time will depend on printing requirements and shipping times.

If you have a rush order please let me know when you contact me and I will advise if I can accommodate you. For Christmas cards/orders a ‘last order date’ will be advertised and will generally be at the beginning of November and only for a limited number of orders.

Can I use photos taken by a professional photographer in my custom design?

You can use professional photos but I will need the photographer, who is the holder of the copyright of the photos, to send a copyright release. Usually photographers are happy to do this, if not I can use use the photographs.

Cancellations and Returns?
Once an order has had final approval, is paid for, and submitted to print, it can not be cancelled for any reason.
Final proofing is done by you before we submitt to print. Please make sure you carefully check your layout for errors, and that the design is exactly the way you want. Once the order is submitted to print, the sale is final. If you wish to reprint your order because you changed your mind, etc. ,you will be responsible for any additional design/printing fees.
If you received your order and it isn’t consistent to your approved final proof, and is a mistake made by myself please contact me
